in recent years, with the continuous advancement of beijing's ecological protection work, wild birds have become more and more common in the city. as one of the heritage sites on the central axis of beijing, the temple of heaven park has cooperated with relevant volunteer organizations to conduct bird resource surveys since 2003. in 2023, a total of 156 wild birds were observed and recorded in the park, including 11 new "guests" such as green herons, fire doves, and spot-billed ducks. so far, the number of wild bird species recorded by the bird survey of the temple of heaven has reached 242. in zhongshan park, jingshan park and other places, bird surveys are also ongoing, and bird science activities are carried out simultaneously.
