on september 20, the chengdu east new district basic education urban-rural integration promotion conference and the completion ceremony of shishi east new district experimental school were held. the full completion of the school will further promote the high-quality and balanced development of chengdu's education and promote the realization of urban-rural integration of basic education.
chengdu shishi eastern new district experimental school is located at no. 985, liufang road, jianzhou new town, chengdu eastern new district. it is a twelve-year public school led by chengdu shishi middle school (chengdu no. 4 middle school).
the school broke ground in 2022, and the primary school was successfully completed and put into use in the fall of 2023, welcoming the first batch of students, marking the official opening of the school. after the completion of the middle school, the school officially formed a "one school, two departments, twelve-year system" school-running pattern.
the middle school consists of 13 buildings and basements, including junior and senior high school teaching buildings, teaching and research buildings, lecture halls, teacher duty rooms, libraries, student dormitories, canteens, gymnasiums, etc., which can accommodate more than 3,000 students to meet the enrollment needs of more students and parents. the school's core team and backbone teachers are all assigned by shishi middle school. all young teachers come from "double first-class" universities, and the proportion of master's degrees exceeds 90%.
in the four years since the establishment of chengdu east new area, it has taken comprehensive education reform as its guide to accelerate the construction of a high-quality modern education system, opened 23 new schools and kindergartens and 10 "chengdu new quality schools", added 25,000 new places, and was approved as the "sichuan province comprehensive education reform pilot zone" and was rated as the "chengdu-chongqing urban and rural areas compulsory education integrated development and cultivation experimental zone".
