beijing's central axis runs from north to south, connecting the past and the present. it is not only a mark of history and civilization, but also a living heritage that is endless, fresh and dynamic. it has been continuous and ever-lasting for more than 700 years. the drum tower at the north end of the central axis is exhibiting the "story of time" digital immersion exhibition. the members visited the "prologue hall", "beijing time", "time architecture", "china time", "my time", "discover the central axis" and other exhibition halls, and felt the charm of the central axis up close through physical collections and interactive experience devices. afterwards, the members came to the beijing workers' cultural palace (taimiao) to visit the "great temple axis-taimiao historical and cultural special exhibition" to understand the cultural connotation of the taimiao to the central axis. the members also climbed the tiananmen tower and overlooked the square buildings.
the members said that on july 27 this year, the application for world heritage status for the central axis of beijing was successful. this is an important landmark achievement in beijing's construction of a national cultural center, and it vividly demonstrates the achievements made by the capital in the new era in terms of cultural heritage protection and the revitalization and utilization of cultural relics. today, through on-site walking and visiting, i felt the symbiosis between the protection of the ancient capital and people's good life. especially when i stepped onto tiananmen square, i felt a sense of national pride. the successful application for world heritage status for the central axis is a milestone and a new starting point for a higher level of protection. as a new social class among the members, we should take the lead in protecting and inheriting historical and cultural heritage and actively participate in cultural exchanges and mutual learning. born in a great era, we should fulfill our duties and contribute wisdom and strength to beijing's leading role in basically realizing socialist modernization.
