beijing news (reporter peng jingtao) beijing news reporter learned that at around 19:00 on september 16, the chief of shidu fire station of the beijing fangshan district fire rescue detachment received a call for help from the owner of a homestay in the area, saying that 10 tourists who had booked his homestay were lost in the mountains, probably near sanhuang mountain and jinzituo in laishui county, and urgently needed help.

after receiving the call for help, the fangshan district fire rescue detachment dispatched the full-time command center, as well as mountain rescue teams from shidu, shangfangshan, chengguan, doudian, dashiwo and other fire stations, and simultaneously coordinated with the laishui brigade of the baoding city fire rescue detachment to deal with the situation on the scene.
after asking the owner of the homestay, we learned that among the 10 tourists, there were 6 adults and 4 children. they went up the mountain from shenjia'an village in yidu, laishui county at noon that day and originally planned to arrive at the homestay in shidu town around dusk to rest. but when it was getting dark, the tourists contacted the owner of the homestay, saying that they were lost on the mountain. no one was injured yet, and asked the owner to contact the nearby rescue team. so the owner of the homestay called the contact number reserved by the shidu fire station in the homestay for help.
at 21:11, the first rescue team went up the mountain with emergency lighting, rescue ropes, communication radios and food to search for the trapped people. due to the dark night, the rugged mountain terrain and the uncertainty of the trapped people's exact location, after two hours of searching, the rescuers were unable to find the trapped people. at 23:15, the second rescue team went up the mountain to search and rescue.
at 0:15 the next day, the first rescue team found 10 trapped tourists. no one was injured and the distance down the mountain was about 6 kilometers. because the four children were young and had been trapped for a long time, the rescuers could only carry them down the mountain on their backs or in their arms. with the support of the second batch of mountain rescue forces and the laishui brigade of the baoding branch, at 9:46 on the 17th, all 10 trapped people were safely escorted down the mountain and picked up by the owner of the homestay.
the fire department reminds the general public: the weather is clear and cool in autumn, which is perfect for outdoor activities such as mountain climbing. before climbing, you should plan your climbing route in advance and avoid climbing in adverse weather conditions such as high temperature or heavy rain. climbing wild mountains is not recommended. you should go hiking with companions and not alone. pay attention to your physical condition at all times, rest at appropriate times, do what you can, and keep communication tools open. do not use open flames or throw cigarette butts in mountainous areas to avoid causing forest fires. if you get lost, you should return to the original route or find a shelter, call the police for help in time, and wait for rescue.
