on august 11, the 2024 graduates of baoding college who were going to teach in bayingolin mongol autonomous prefecture, xinjiang, set off from baoding collectively to continue writing the song of youth in the new era. this mid-autumn festival, this group of new teachers born in the 2000s who went to the western part of the motherland will spend a reunion festival different from the past in their "new home" far away from their hometown.
on the afternoon of september 15, after seeing off the last batch of students, han jimeng, the head teacher of class 12 of grade 12 at the no. 23 middle school in korla city, bayingolin mongol autonomous prefecture, xinjiang, took out his mobile phone and made a video call with his mother who was 3,000 kilometers away.

xiao han's hometown is zhuozhou city, baoding. he said that since he was a child, he has celebrated the mid-autumn festival with his family almost every year. "this year is the first time i celebrate the mid-autumn festival alone, and in the western part of the country."
xiao han told her mother that korla no. 23 middle school is a new school built with aid from hebei province. many of the colleagues in the school are from hebei, so communication is very convenient. the students are very close to them, just like a family. although far away from home, she does not feel like she is in a foreign land in korla.
