shared bicycles are convenient, but the phenomenon of random parking is also common. this year, dongcheng district has carried out management of shared bicycle parking. by tapping the potential of parking spaces and parking in different areas, more than 3,000 parking spaces have been added to 9,730, which can accommodate more than 80,000 shared bicycles. the ratio of vehicles to parking spaces has been increased from the original 1:1 to 1:1.3. at the same time, civilized guides and others are organized and coordinated to participate in guidance. at present, the district has basically achieved a dynamic balance in the regulation of supply and demand of shared bicycles.
the east gate of oriental plaza, located in dongdan, is adjacent to chang'an avenue and exit e of dongdan metro station. to its east is dongdan intersection north station, where nearly 10 bus lines stop. there are also many restaurants, business, theaters, hospitals and other places around it. it is the starting point for many tourists' cycling tours along chang'an avenue, and has dense traffic.
previously, there was no dedicated shared bicycle parking area here, and express delivery vehicles, takeout electric bikes, shared bicycles, etc. were all crowded under the overpass, and many even spilled onto the trails. since the beginning of this year, the dongcheng district urban management committee has conducted on-site surveys and, through potential tapping and coordination, added two shared bicycle parking areas in front of the east gate of oriental new world, which can accommodate more than 80 shared bicycles. at the same time, oriental plaza property has planned a special parking area for takeout vehicles in front of the east gate, further standardizing the parking order of non-motor vehicles.
in addition to tapping the potential of parking spaces, the city is also exploring the zoning of shared bicycles. around subway stations such as jianguomen, dongdan, and the east gate of the temple of heaven, dongcheng district is trying to guide shared bicycles and social non-motorized vehicles, especially electric bicycles, to be parked in different zones, thereby alleviating the problems of inconvenience in storage and access, and large-scale collapse caused by mixed and piled vehicles. "after zoning parking, citizens and tourists can consciously park in designated areas, which not only improves order, but also increases the utilization rate of bicycles." said tang jinquan, the operation director of meituan dongcheng.
now that the parking areas are planned, how can we correctly guide people to park and use them in order? this year, dongcheng district has mobilized community workers in "red vests", civilized guides in "yellow tops", property security guards in "gray uniforms", and other forces to jointly participate in the parking order inspection, vehicle congestion cleaning and vehicle dispatching work in their responsible areas.
during the morning and evening rush hours during the summer vacation this year, dongcheng district selected 21 guides to support the maintenance of order at the entrances of eight first-level subway stations, including jianguomen, wangfujing, and nanluoguxiang, and to assist in guiding the stacking of bicycles. the civilized guides also established a wechat contact group for real-time communication and sharing of station information.
li dewei, a member of the parking management section of the dongcheng district urban management committee, said that in the next step, dongcheng district will continue to guide enterprises to expand the scope of standardized parking areas, make good use of diverse forces, and improve the effectiveness of operation and maintenance. at the same time, it will organize civilized riding and standardized parking publicity activities to improve citizens' riding literacy.
