the seoul fire and disaster headquarters said that the department discovered a system failure on the fire hotline 119 at 8:27 p.m. on the 13th, and then urgently notified the public that if they encountered a fire emergency, they should call the alarm hotline 112 instead.

according to yonhap news agency, the fire hotline system was partially restored at 8:46 p.m. that night, allowing operators to manually handle calls for help by identifying the caller's location. at 9:15 p.m. that night, the system was fully restored.

according to fire department officials, the fire department missed 129 calls during the 19 minutes when the system was completely out of service, but none of these calls were emergency calls.
