this is the northernmost rice field painting in beijing, more than 130 kilometers away from downtown beijing. on the flat ground in the hinterland of yanshan mountain, more than 150 mu of colorful dry rice form a "geese formation" picture.
it is understood that this year's baoshan rice field painting landscape design uses "baoshan goose formation" as the main body of the pattern; rice ears surround it, symbolizing the planting and harvest of rice field agriculture; wild geese surround it, symbolizing that more and more "geese" are gathering towards the baoshan goose formation; the right side of the pattern depicts mountains and flowing water, representing the "high mountain and cool" natural climate characteristics of baoshan town; the four big characters "hundred thousand projects" at the bottom indicate the response to beijing's rural revitalization project.

on september 14, the third rice field music festival, "colorful land·chinese style of country music" and "beijing-inner mongolia flavor·fragrant baoshan", opened in the rice field painting, attracting many citizens and tourists to take photos and check in. on one side of the rice field painting is the beijing-inner mongolia agricultural product promotion area, which displays traditional foods such as beef, mutton, milk tea, and yogurt from the inner mongolia grasslands, as well as local agricultural products such as pears, pumpkins, and honey from baoshan town.
the reporter learned that baoshan town is a village deep in the mountains outside beijing. the farmland in the town used to generally grow crops with low maintenance costs such as corn and grains. the product prices were low and the sales channels were not smooth. in addition, the village was hollowed out and aging was serious, so farmers were not very motivated to farm.
in order to resolve the problem of uncultivated land, baoshan town established the tianhechuan planting center, a town-level collective enterprise, at the end of 2021 to unify the transfer of 2,000 acres of farmers' inefficient agricultural land and reclaimed land to plant high-mountain colorful dry rice. through corporate operations, large-scale planting, standardized management and branded marketing, a regional characteristic brand of "baoshan flavor" was formed, and the integration of agriculture and tourism was promoted by creating "rice field paintings" and "rice field music festivals", achieving multiple benefits such as ensuring the capital's food security, developing regional characteristic leading industries, and driving farmers' employment and income growth.
