among malicious network attacks, from the perspective of cities, wuhan enterprises were attacked the most times, reaching 4.7 million times, followed by jingmen, shiyan, yichang and xiangyang; from the perspective of attack types, malware, botnets, network sniffing, etc. were the main ones, accounting for 38.1%, 18.8% and 14.3% respectively. among them, the threat of botnet infection is relatively serious, involving more than 500 enterprises, among which the more active botnet families are virut and kraken. mining trojan infection is showing a stable trend, and the infected hosts are mainly distributed in huangshi and wuhan; from the perspective of industry, the automobile manufacturing industry is still the industry that suffers the most malicious network attacks in hubei province, followed by non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, metal products industry, and computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry. in the past 8 months, network attacks against equipment industries such as automobile manufacturing, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, special equipment manufacturing, and raw materials industry-related enterprises have fluctuated and increased; network attacks against energy industries such as water production and supply industry and gas production and supply industry have shown a relatively stable trend.

the report was guided by the hubei provincial communications administration and compiled by the hubei provincial network information security technology control center. following the tradition of previous years, it records the security situation of the industrial internet in hubei province through detailed and objective data.

chen qian, leader of the hubei provincial network information security technology control center, said that at present, the global situation is complex and changeable, and new-generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data are accelerating local breakthroughs and systematic evolution. while the industrial internet industry is developing, it is bound to bring about network security issues. with the agility and industrialization of cyber attacks, the cost of cyber attacks is constantly decreasing, and the attack methods are becoming more advanced, resulting in a continuous increase in network threats such as supply chain attacks, ransomware attacks, and geopolitical-related hacker attacks. however, it can be seen from the data that although the number of attacks on the industrial internet in hubei province has continued to rise, the increase in the number of companies involved has been greatly narrowed. this reflects that more and more companies are aware of the importance and urgency of network security, converge on internet network exports, and do a good job of protection.
