on the occasion of the 2024 world manufacturing conference and the national day, xin'an evening news, anhui.com, and da'an news, under the guidance and support of the anhui provincial automobile office, grandly launched a special report "a brief history of anhui automobile", looking back on the 73 years of automobile manufacturing and revisiting the extraordinary journey of generations of anhui automobile people who have worked hard, innovated, and continued to struggle.

after the founding of the people's republic of china, anhui, which had a weak foundation, began to embark on the journey of industrialization with the mission of "the rise of the republic's industry". from the first iron-wood structure bus "aiguo" converted by the hefei axle factory on the yangtze river road in 1951, to the first "jac" truck in the history of anhui's automobile industry being produced at the chaohu auto parts factory in 1968, to the first "andar" car independently developed and trial-produced by the anqing automobile factory in 1991, anhui's dream of making cars has never stopped.

in 1999, the team of hefei university of technology completed the research and development of the first generation of pure electric cars. chery became one of the earliest domestic automakers to deploy new energy vehicles. in march 2003, the first new energy vehicle independently developed by chery's new energy startup team officially rolled off the assembly line. in 2009, under the national "10 cities, 1,000 vehicles" strategy, hefei made a strong debut and became the "pioneer" of anhui's new energy vehicles to achieve overtaking on the curve.

in 2023, when the automobile industry is identified as anhui's top industry and adheres to the overall layout of the "three-in-one" of complete vehicles, parts and aftermarket, anhui's automobile industry begins to show more possibilities.
