it is reported that since the official launch of the program in early july 2024, as of july 31, a total of 1,325 rural teachers from 20 cities across the province have signed up. after preliminary screening by an expert jury, video interview re-evaluation, on-site verification, supplementary materials, comprehensive review and final evaluation, and public announcement, 100 candidates for the xinhuo excellent rural teacher training and subsidy program were officially selected, with an average working time of 21.3 years in rural schools.

zhou maohua, principal of wencun town central primary school in taishan city, jiangmen, was selected as a candidate for the 2024 xinhuo excellent rural teacher training and subsidy program. he has been working in rural education for 21 years. he said that rural education needs teachers who are conscientious, willing to serve as a stepping stone, brave to persevere, and silently dedicate themselves to protect the growth of children and ignite the light of their lives.
