the construction of the port supply chain service system and the comprehensive promotion of professional operation of timber business have made a qualitative leap in the timber loading and unloading capacity of rizhao port. in may this year, as the "zongheng 202" ship slowly sailed to the southern port after loading logs, shandong port rizhao port no. 3 company once again broke the timber loading record, and the timber loading efficiency increased by 21% year-on-year. this is the 30th time the company has broken the timber operation record this year.

the timber industry is a characteristic industry of lanshan district, rizhao city, which is the largest integrated log import, processing and distribution base in china and has a certain influence in the world. data shows that from january to july this year, the lanshan port imported 6.678 million cubic meters of timber, accounting for 17.5% of the country's timber (logs and sawn timber) imports and 30% of the country's log imports.
relying on the advantages of timber import near the port, lanshan district has carefully cultivated a timber industry cluster and formed a mature chain of "timber import - sawing (cutting) - drying - deep processing - comprehensive utilization of waste materials". at present, there are more than 400 timber trade and processing enterprises in the district, with an annual trade and processing output value of 12 billion yuan, directly driving more than 20,000 employees. lanshan district of rizhao city has the only national imported timber trade and processing demonstration zone in shandong province and the second in the country.
rizhao auspine decorative materials co., ltd., located in the wood processing demonstration area of lanshan district, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of qiannianzhou group. it mainly produces lsb high-energy home furnishing boards, australian pine boards, etc. this year, taking full advantage of rizhao's wood import advantages and the abundant wood processing residues in the local area, the second phase of the company's project construction has entered the schedule, and plans to build a 100,000 m³ lumber production line and a 500,000 m³ veneer osb production line. in addition, the industrial chain will be further extended to build a 200,000 m³ veneer artificial board production line, a 300,000 m² prefabricated building production line, and a 500,000 m² whole house customization production line.
during the 2024 global wood and wood products conference, 10 projects including the prefabricated wood structure industrial park, shandong port wood supply chain strategic cooperation, and log import and export trade strategic cooperation were signed and implemented in rizhao.
