"although there were many warnings before the typhoon came, and the government, school and we individuals had done a lot of preventive work, but when it really came, it still exceeded my expectations. the school gate was blown down, many large trees were blown down, and many trash cans and shared bicycles on the street were lying on the ground. i also heard that the glass in some residents' homes was blown away." teacher li told jiupai news.

teacher li said that the school was suspended on the 5th, when the sky was still clear and she had not yet realized that there would be a violent storm. on the evening of the 6th, it began to drizzle in yangpu, but she was not afraid at all. in the early morning of the 7th, the typhoon began to wreak havoc. "the doors and windows of my house were rattling in the wind, as if they were about to be blown to pieces. i was still very scared being alone at home, and i almost didn't sleep all night. it was not until dawn that the wind gradually died down."

teacher li said self-deprecatingly that she has poor living skills and no experience in dealing with typhoons. when everyone was stockpiling food a few days ago, she did not realize the seriousness of the situation and bought some dry food at random. by noon today, it was not enough to eat. she wanted to go out to buy something to eat, but found that due to the typhoon, restaurants and supermarkets were not open. "some roads were blocked and stores were not open. it will probably take another day or two to recover."

during the telephone interview with teacher li, her cell phone signal was intermittent. she explained that it was because the typhoon interfered with the signal and sometimes the call could not be reached. now that the wind has weakened, school will resume classes on the 9th. she expects hainan island to return to normal order soon.
