reading and learning etiquette should start from youth. on the morning of september 6, a welcoming ceremony with the theme of "enlightenment and wisdom, etiquette and beginning" was held at the playground of bijie no. 1 primary school. after the first-year students were enlightened, they officially started a new stage in their lives.
the ceremony of opening the pen, commonly known as breaking the dream, is one of the four major ceremonies in the life of ancient scholars. in ancient times, on the first day of school, the enlightenment teacher would teach the most basic and simple principles of life, and teach them how to read and write. then they would pay homage to the statue of confucius before entering school.
the new students wore hanfu and, under the guidance of their enlightenment teachers, successively carried out ceremonies such as dressing and hat straightening, gratitude salute, cinnabar enlightenment, and enlightenment tracing. "dressing and hat straightening" not only requires straightening the collar and hat, but also the attitude towards learning and being a person. "gratitude salute" means paying respect to teachers and parents and learning to be grateful. "cinnabar enlightenment" means teachers paint cinnabar on the new students, hoping that they will have clear eyes and minds and open the door to wisdom. "enlightenment tracing" means writing the character "人" with one stroke and one stroke under the guidance of school teachers, implying that to study, one must first learn to be a person.
