on september 6, the intermediate people's court of ganzhou city, jiangxi province, held a public trial of the case of bribery against zhu congjiu, former member of the party leadership group and vice chairman of the zhejiang provincial committee of the chinese people's political consultative conference.

ganzhou municipal people's procuratorate prosecuted and charged:from 2002 to 2022, the defendant zhu congjiu used his positions as deputy secretary and general manager of the shanghai stock exchange, member of the party committee of the china securities regulatory commission, assistant to the chairman and director of the issuance supervision department, member of the party leadership group of the zhejiang provincial government and vice governor, and member of the party leadership group of the zhejiang provincial cppcc to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as company listing, financing and loans, and business operations, and illegally accepted property directly or through others totaling more than rmb 105 million. the procuratorate requested that zhu congjiu be held criminally responsible for the crime of accepting bribes.

during the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant zhu congjiu and his defense counsel conducted cross-examination, and the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. zhu congjiu made a final statement and expressed his guilt and remorse in court.

at the end of the trial, the court announced a recess and the verdict will be announced at a later date. more than 40 people including npc deputies, cppcc members and people from all walks of life attended the trial.

on may 4, 2023, it was reported that zhu congjiu was investigated; on november 7, 2023, it was reported that zhu congjiu was "double-opened".

upon investigation,zhu congjiu lost his ideals and beliefs, deviated from his original aspiration and mission, made irresponsible remarks on the major policies and decisions of the party central committee, formed cliques, undermined the political environment, brought banned books into the country without permission and read them for a long time, and resisted organizational review; he ignored the spirit of the central committee's eight regulations, and repeatedly accepted banquets and travel arrangements that may have affected the impartial performance of his duties; he lacked organizational principles, failed to report personal matters in accordance with regulations, and illegally sought benefits for his relatives and others in employment, promotion, and other aspects; he illegally accepted gifts and cash gifts, was aware of his spouse's illegal business activities in the jurisdiction but did not correct it, and used his power to seek improper economic benefits for his relatives; he used public property for personal gain, and illegally interfered and meddled in market economic activities and law enforcement and judicial activities; he was morally corrupt; he had a weak sense of discipline and law, was extremely greedy, "relied on finance to eat finance", used the convenience of his position to seek profits for others in company listings, financing and loans, and illegally accepted huge amounts of property.

zhu congjiu seriously violated the party's political discipline, organizational discipline, discipline on integrity, work discipline and discipline in life, constituted a serious duty violation and was suspected of bribery, and did not stop after the 18th national congress of the communist party of china. the nature of his violations is serious and the impact is bad, and he should be dealt with seriously. in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "regulations on disciplinary punishment of the communist party of china", "supervision law of the people's republic of china", "administrative punishment law of public officials of the people's republic of china", etc., after the central commission for discipline inspection standing committee meeting studied and reported to the central committee of the communist party of china for approval, it was decided to expel zhu congjiu from the party; the national supervision commission shall expel him from public office; confiscate his illegal gains; and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorate for examination and prosecution in accordance with the law, and transfer the relevant property together.

according to his public resume, zhu congjiu, male, was born in march 1965, of the han nationality, is a graduate student majoring in monetary banking at the graduate school of the people's bank of china, holds a master's degree in economics, and is an on-the-job master of business administration. he joined the communist party of china in july 1985 and started working in august 1988.

zhu congjiu has served as a cadre in the financial management department of the people's bank of china, a cadre in the office of the china securities regulatory commission, general manager and party secretary of the shanghai stock exchange, assistant to the chairman and member of the party committee of the china securities regulatory commission.

in may 2012, zhu congjiu was appointed as vice governor of zhejiang province. in july 2022, he resigned from the post and later became vice chairman of the zhejiang provincial committee of the chinese people's political consultative conference.。
