china news service, zhongshan, september 6 (reporter sun qiuxia) the 2024 guangdong-hong kong intellectual property and sme development lecture was held in zhongshan on the 5th. the lecture focused on "innovation development strategy: intellectual property management and marketization of smes in the greater bay area". more than 200 representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises from guangdong and hong kong were invited to participate, aiming to enhance the intellectual property awareness of small and medium-sized enterprises and enhance their comprehensive intellectual property capabilities.

the "guangdong-hong kong intellectual property and small and medium enterprises development" series of lectures has been held 24 times since 2003. it is a long-term cooperation project carried out by the guangdong-hong kong intellectual property protection cooperation task force and an important activity in the guangdong-hong kong economic and trade cooperation.

the lecture was co-organized by the guangdong provincial market supervision bureau, zhongshan municipal government, the hong kong intellectual property department and the hong kong trade development council. experts at the lecture shared their views on topics such as realizing innovative value with the help of standards, collaborative innovative thinking, the transformation of chinese ip in the greater bay area, corporate intellectual property management and value enhancement, and interacted with representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises on aspects such as enhancing awareness of intellectual property protection.

as of the first half of this year, guangdong province's smes have authorized 53,000 invention patents, accounting for 67.99% of the province's total invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 63.14%; the number of smes with invention patents accounts for 94.72% of the province's total number of invention patents; the province's specialized and innovative "little giants" have nearly 37,000 valid invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 28.14%.
