this spring, haidian district launched a project to restore the population of native fish in beijing, releasing tens of thousands of fish fry into the waters of yudong country park and other places. what is the effect? the camera takes you to visit the haidian version of the "underwater forest".
once upon a time, rivers and lakes were crystal clear, with swaying water plants and schools of fish and shrimp, which were beautiful memories in people's hearts. however, with rapid urbanization and environmental changes, the ecological balance of rivers and lakes has been challenged, biodiversity has suffered losses, and many common fish have gradually disappeared from people's sight.
in order to recreate the beautiful scene of fish swimming in the shallow water and improve the ecological environment of the three mountains and five gardens area, the haidian district landscape and greening bureau launched the population restoration work of beijing's native fish in the spring of this year, adopting a "comprehensive three-dimensional biological release" strategy, with the higher-bodied minnow (commonly known as "fire scales") as the main restoration target, supplemented by the release of a variety of organisms such as minnows, wheatear fish, loaches, club flower fish, and dome pearl clams, to promote the improvement of regional biodiversity and the improvement of ecosystem integrity.
recently, the haidian district landscape bureau used underwater cameras to explore the underwater forest. from the camera, we can see that the water of the lake in liangshan park is clear, and groups of "colorful fish" minnows swim freely and shuttle among the swaying water plants, which is very "healing".
"under a series of ecological restoration measures such as 'comprehensive three-dimensional biological release', the water ecological environment and biodiversity of parks in the three mountains and five gardens area, such as liangshan park and beiwu park, have been improved." a relevant person in charge of the haidian district bureau of landscape and greening introduced that through five months of ecological monitoring, the newly added higher-bodied minnows and other native organisms have adapted well to the new environment and have a high survival rate.
in addition, the multi-ecological niche fish and large benthic animals restored in the water body enriched the biological composition of the food web, making the food web structure more stable, and providing food resources for water birds. today, the three mountains and five gardens area not only has a good habitat, but also abundant food, attracting more water birds to live here, such as the crested grebe, small grebe, pond heron, great egret, night heron and other water birds frequently visit, the biodiversity of the entire area is improving, and the ecosystem is gradually improving.
