on september 5, audi announced that it will build the largest product layout in its history for the chinese market, continuing to implement its strategic commitment to china.starting from mid-2025, the locally produced audi q6l e-tron model series based on the ppe luxury pure electric platform will sound the clarion call for this product plan. in the next two years, audi will work with two local partners to launch new high-end pure electric models and next-generation fuel models.

specifically, starting from mid-2025,audi will work with china faw to launch pure electric models based on the ppe platform specifically for the chinese market. the first model will be the audi q6l e-tron.

in addition, a new generation of local models based on the ppc (premium platform combustion) luxury fuel vehicle platform will also be unveiled, including the new audi a5 family. the audi a5 family will be jointly produced by china faw and saic group and provide different body styles.

it is worth mentioning that audi ag has adjusted the naming method of its globally released vehicles since 2024. the numbers in the model names will become a symbol to distinguish between electric models and fuel models. from now on, even numbers will represent electric models, such as audi q6 e-tron, and odd numbers will represent fuel models, such as audi a5.the audi q6 e-tron is the first model to adopt this new vehicle naming convention.
