starting from midnight today (5th), the airspace optimization plan for the east-west air traffic artery connecting the world-class airport cluster in the yangtze river delta and the kunming international hub was officially launched. like the roads on the ground, there are also "sky roads" in the sky. the opening of this aerial corridor will make the "sky roads" along the route wider, with larger capacity, and further improve the safety level and flight efficiency of flight operations.

the shanghai-kunming air corridor, which was put into use at midnight today, follows the idea of setting up a parallel double line for the shanghai-kunming route, and implements a one-way parallel transformation of the h24 route, the busiest east-west route in my country, from the original relatively running "single lane" to a one-way running "double lane". the main body of the plan consists of two parallel routes. the eastern section adopts a flexible use of airspace to connect to the shanghai terminal area, and the western side directly connects to the china-myanmar and china-laos air entry and exit points through a new connecting route, connecting multiple points to achieve a new pattern of one-way circulation operation of the air backbone corridor.

zhang junjie, deputy director of the airspace management office of the airspace center of the air traffic management bureau of the civil aviation administration of china, said that it effectively connects seven hub airports with a passenger volume of tens of millions, namely shanghai pudong, hongqiao, hangzhou xiaoshan, nanchang changbei, changsha huanghua, guiyang longdongbao and kunming changshui. it is a major air traffic artery running across my country from east to west and an important part of my country's national three-dimensional integrated transportation network.
