the "mobile internet application security statistical analysis report (2024)" released by the national computer virus emergency response center at the forum pointed out that the sampling results increased by 10.32 percentage points compared with the same period last year. liu yan, an expert from the national computer virus emergency response center, said that this shows that the problem of missing information on responsible entities of mobile internet applications in my country has improved.

in july 2023, the ministry of industry and information technology issued the "notice of the ministry of industry and information technology on the implementation of mobile internet application registration work" and gave a registration roadmap, clarifying that september 2023 to march 2024 is the registration stage for existing apps.

in june 2022, the cyberspace administration of china issued the newly revised "regulations on the administration of mobile internet application information services", which set clear regulations and requirements for application distribution platforms, requiring application distribution platforms to not provide services to those that have data security risks and illegally collect and use personal information. as of june 2024, the national computer virus emergency response center monitored mobile internet application distribution channels and found that the number of android malicious programs has increased significantly compared with the same period last year.

the report points out that malicious programs and illegal mobile internet applications have long existed in distribution channels, and the competent and regulatory authorities need to strengthen their management of distribution channels.
