the "third pazhou algorithm competition" was officially launched on april 23, 2024, co-organized by the guangzhou municipal people's government and the china artificial intelligence society, and co-sponsored by the china academy of information and communications technology, the haizhu district people's government, the guangzhou municipal science and technology bureau, the guangzhou municipal industry and information technology bureau, the guangzhou municipal government service and data management bureau, and the guangdong provincial laboratory of artificial intelligence and digital economy (guangzhou). the yangcheng evening news reporter learned on september 4 that as of the closing of registration on july 31, the scale of the competition reached a new high, attracting more than 6,000 teams from 36 countries to actively participate. after layers of screening, the competition gathered elite teams from all walks of life and successfully completed the semi-finals on september 1, and finally competed for 63 top algorithm teams, which will soon compete in the finals.
as the most popular algorithm competition, 21 teams out of the 270 teams that entered the semi-finals stood out. the domestic competition area showed outstanding strength in the four major competition topics of smart transportation, logistics optimization, intelligent scheduling, and gigavision·billion-pixel visual intelligence, and one team each from central and western china, south china, and north china entered the next stage. in the intelligent scheduling competition topic, the scores of the qualifying works in the east china competition area were close and the performance was excellent, so three teams successfully entered the finals, and one team each from the remaining competition topics advanced. three teams advanced to the ecg ai medical algorithm competition topic in the overseas competition area, including high-quality algorithm talents or companies from france, canada, singapore and the philippines. the third pazhou algorithm competition has gradually gained brand appeal overseas.
50.8% of the registered teams in the innovation application competition came from enterprises, institutions and university teachers and students, and a total of 23 teams entered the finals. the four major competition topics of data security, intelligent manufacturing, green energy, e-commerce, and future industries set up in the domestic competition area have all received high-quality entries. among them, 6 teams each advanced in the data security and intelligent manufacturing competition topics, 4 teams advanced in e-commerce and future industries, and 3 teams advanced in the ai product competition topic set for the overseas competition area. the qualified teams include institutions and state-owned enterprises such as the radio and television science research institute of the state administration of radio and television, china mobile zijin (jiangsu) innovation research institute co., ltd., as well as high-tech enterprises and specialized and new enterprises such as sichuan changhong electronics holding group co., ltd. and guangzhou guoxun robot technology co., ltd. with their deep industry background and innovation capabilities, these teams have brought us many original, creative and leading domestic and foreign algorithm models and algorithm application solutions.
the ai big model challenge, which was held for the first time in this competition, also received a warm response, with a total of 19 teams standing out. among them, one team advanced to the ai big model product competition in each competition area, and nine and six teams advanced to the glm big model training competition for the legal and government services industries, respectively. the qualifying works of this group cover multiple fields such as education, audio-visual media, and music, showing the exploration and attempt of today's big model battlefield from general big models to vertical big models. as an important supporting force for this competition, haizhu district will fully promote the construction of the country's first artificial intelligence big model application demonstration zone this year, and the ai big model challenge of the pazhou algorithm competition will undoubtedly provide strong support for the realization of this goal.
it is reported that the third pazhou algorithm competition is about to usher in the exciting finals stage. all qualified teams will gather in guangzhou to compete for the glory of the global champion. the finals and awards ceremony will be held on september 19th and 20th, when all winning teams will be announced and commended.
