lin ximei was born in huilai county, jieyang city, guangdong province in 1995. as the youngest daughter in the family, she was named "ximei". when she first started to learn to walk, she was diagnosed with congenital myasthenia. at that time, lifting a half-kilogram dumbbell was her limit. in 2012, she was regarded as a "good seedling" for hard court bowling by her coach because of her "strong strength". in october 2023, at the 4th asian para games in hangzhou, she won the silver medal in the women's individual bc4 level of hard court bowling.
boccia is a unique event of the paralympic games. it was originally designed for patients with cerebral palsy. now, any athlete with a neurological disability that affects their autonomous motor function can participate. the event is divided into four levels: bc1, bc2, bc3, and bc4 according to the degree of disability. bc1 and bc2 belong to athletes with cerebral palsy, while bc3 and bc4 are athletes with severe physical dysfunction or limb loss.
