recently, 834 cross-border e-commerce export parcels were successfully shipped from the shanghai post international mail processing center and shipped overseas through shanghai pudong international airport. since the shanghai postal route cross-border e-commerce export operation on may 21, the number of mail parcels has increased month by month, and a total of 15,800 parcels have been exported in the past 100 days.
cross-border e-commerce exports target small packages, multiple product names, and high-frequency b2c orders in cross-border e-commerce, that is, overseas consumers place orders to domestic e-commerce sellers on cross-border e-commerce platforms to purchase goods, and the goods are released by customs and then delivered to overseas consumers. the traditional advantages of low-cost and stable logistics of postal transportation are highly consistent with the customs clearance needs of cross-border e-commerce exports, providing small e-commerce companies with a new option for "going overseas".
as the "national team" of express logistics, postal enterprises have both practical needs and considerable challenges in exploring the "new blue ocean" of cross-border e-commerce. "in order to help postal enterprises to open up the postal cross-border e-commerce, our customs has customized a "service package" for key enterprises in advance and launched a number of service guidance measures: guiding the postal service to complete the transformation of the supervision work site and successfully pass the customs acceptance; unblocking data bottlenecks, solving a number of problems such as three-way collision, system debugging, and data calculation; formulating an "embedded" supervision process for the characteristics of postal logistics, promoting the immediate inspection and release of parcels to be inspected, and realizing zero waiting for customs clearance." xu zijing, chief of the fourth section of the customs mail supervision of the post office under shanghai customs, said.
kong lingmei, head of shanghai xiteng e-commerce co., ltd., who participated in the trial operation, said: "our company is small in scale, and the volume of each export commodity is small and the destination countries are many. we chose the postal service because of its well-developed global logistics network. in the past, exporting through traditional postal services was time-consuming and laborious to declare each piece. now, through the "simplified declaration" model of cross-border e-commerce, the problem of difficult and inaccurate commodity coding classification caused by the complex types of export commodities has been solved, and the manpower investment in the early preparation work of declaration has been greatly reduced."
"under the guarantee of the normalized linkage mechanism between the post office and the customs, the current business process has become increasingly mature, and cross-border e-commerce packages are sent to all parts of the world by air every day." chen xin, general manager of shanghai post international business branch, said: "in the next step, we will gradually expand the cross-border e-commerce mail transportation business to other modes of transportation such as sea transportation and china-europe trains, and provide high-quality sea, land and air multi-channel mail transportation services for cross-border e-commerce in shanghai and the surrounding yangtze river delta."
