in the past few days, walking in the alleys of dashilan street in xicheng district, beijing, you can always hear such conversations. in early august, the street began to reinstall solar lights for bungalow courtyards in need. the old lights that have been weathered for five years have been "retired" and 1,500 new solar lights have been put into use.
dashilan street is a historical and cultural district with a total area of 1.26 square kilometers, a registered population of more than 50,000 people, and more than 3,000 bungalows and courtyards that are concentrated and old. at the beginning of this year, the street received feedback from residents that the solar lights in the courtyards were not as bright as before, and some were even "out of work". in response, the street conducted a comprehensive inspection of the solar lights in the bungalow courtyards in the area on the basis of meeting the residents' night lighting needs.
inspection found that in addition to aging circuits, the old lamps also had problems such as poor battery performance and missing parts. after sorting out all the problems, the street immediately decided to launch a project to reinstall solar lights for bungalow courtyards in need to ensure that residents can travel safely and conveniently at night.
how many should be installed? where should they be installed? how should they be installed? a more detailed investigation and visit was then carried out: for courtyards that had previously installed solar lights, the current status, brand, specifications, power and other parameters of the old lights were recorded in detail; for courtyards that had not installed solar lights, the residents' needs were patiently understood. in the end, 1,500 solar lights were installed. specifically, one was installed uniformly at the doorway of the bungalow courtyard; if the courtyard area was large, additional lights were installed in the public area at a suitable location, and different power lamp beads were selected according to different areas.
in early august, the installation work was officially launched. so far, 500 solar lamps have been installed. the first batch of installation work in meishijie east, baishun and tieshuxiejie communities has been completed, and other communities are installing them one after another, and it is expected to be completed before the end of september.
it is understood that in addition to energy saving and environmental protection, the newly installed solar lights charge quickly, store enough energy, have high brightness and stability, and good waterproof and heat dissipation performance. they can meet the normal lighting needs of three consecutive rainy days and can be used continuously for up to 26 hours. in addition, each set of lamps can adjust the lighting time, which is divided into four modes: 3 hours, 5 hours, 8 hours, and always on. the final mode will be determined based on the opinions of the residents during the subsequent installation.
