the semiconductor laser radar and sensor device industrialization project is located to the east of chongde eighth avenue and to the south of shangde fifth road in tianqu new district, with a total construction area of ​​about 250,000 square meters. it mainly builds 10 production lines for gallium arsenide substrate epitaxial production, device module manufacturing and packaging testing. gallium arsenide is the main compound of second-generation semiconductors and a key material for making high-frequency, high-speed and high-power electronic devices. as a "chain leader" in the field of second-generation semiconductors, the project not only has a high investment amount and a large scale, but also has vertically integrated production capabilities from substrates, epitaxy, chips to modules and complete machines. while meeting the localization of high-end precision laser radars and sensors, it also fills the gap in the full-chain production of the domestic laser radar industry. in addition, the core chips used in the project are completely independently mastered, successfully breaking through the "stuck neck" technology of foreign countries, which not only ensures industrial security on the one hand, but also brings economic benefits on the other.

"the production of semiconductor lidar is equivalent to building a house. each process is very complicated, and epitaxial production includes hundreds of processes." but in liu liu's view, the manufacturing of the sensor's rf chip is the most difficult. the preparation process includes photolithography, wet etching, dry etching, doping, chemical vapor deposition, chemical mechanical polishing, detection and testing, etc. these processes seem different and repeatedly cross-linked. if there is a problem in any link, all previous efforts will be wasted. "chip semiconductors are one of the most competitive areas in the global industry. if you don't master this technology, you will need to import it from abroad at a high price. now, the group has fully achieved domestic substitution and independent control." he said.
after mastering the core technology, in addition to manufacturing and selling complete lidar machines, the project can also be further extended to the upstream and downstream industrial chains, from materials and devices to system module applications. taking the complete machine as an example, it is currently mainly used in the field of unmanned driving of automobiles. an annual output of 1 million units can be installed on 1 million vehicles. "under certain circumstances, a car may need to install multiple on-board lidars to sense the entire body of the car 360 degrees without blind spots." liu liu said that in this way, not only can unmanned driving be achieved on fixed route scenarios, but also large trucks that change lanes next to them can be avoided smoothly, and the speed of the following vehicle can be accurately judged and decisively overtaken...
