beijing news (reporter zhou huixiaowan) on august 29, the recommended works for the "migration plan: from literature to film and television" unit of the 8th pingyao international film festival were announced. 17 literary works created by writers such as mo yan, gao jianqun, zhang wei, zhang chu, ge liang, suonan cairang, bao zhuo, suo er, sun pin, xie luoyi, and lin gesheng were finally shortlisted. the "migration plan: from literature to film and television" unit was jointly established by the pingyao international film festival and the "new era literature climbing plan" of the chinese writers association. it recommends the latest literary works with the potential for film and television adaptation to the film industry and provides a film and television cooperation and incubation platform for literary works.

the recommended works that were finally shortlisted include literary masterpieces with great potential for film and television adaptation in the past three years and have not yet been developed for film and television, covering a variety of genres such as suspense, crime, science fiction, love, history, etc. among them are realistic works such as mo yan's anti-corruption drama "crocodile", ge liang's "floating figure" depicting the living landscape of contemporary middle-aged intellectuals, zhang chu's "cloud fall" depicting the diverse ecology of chinese county towns, and bie ming's "double oars" examining the past and future of the people of the three gorges. it also includes many excellent genre novels, such as san san's novella "the long river" based on a well-known criminal case; xiao qin's novella "sunflowers by the sea" that combines homicide, cyber violence, disease and love; lemon yuyan's novel "the lancet and the wild rose" focusing on women's workplace and medical research.
the authors of the shortlisted recommended works and their publishing and editing representatives will be invited to attend the 8th pingyao international film festival to promote their works to domestic and foreign film and television copyright purchasing agencies, copyright project development agencies, film and television production companies, distribution agencies and film industry professionals, and conduct copyright negotiations to achieve film and television cooperation. the pingyao international film festival will also provide a special negotiation space for the shortlisted recommended works, providing one-on-one negotiation and exchange opportunities for work representatives and film and television industry professionals.
the 17 shortlisted recommended works were selected by the nine members of the "migration plan" recommendation committee from the dimensions of subject matter innovation, feasibility of film and television adaptation of works, expanding the boundaries of literature and enriching the possibility of film and television creation. they were selected from 85 initial literary works by 34 member units of the joint conference of the "new era literature climbing plan" of the chinese writers association, including "people's literature", "harvest", "october", people's literature publishing house, jiangsu phoenix literature and art publishing house, citic press, and yilin press.
the recommendation committee members include li jingze, a literary critic, essayist, and vice chairman of the chinese writers association; he xiangyang, a poet, scholar, and member of the presidium of the chinese writers association; huang ji, a screenwriter, producer, and general manager of shanghai film group's "haishang films" company; li xiuwen, a writer, screenwriter, and chairman of the hubei writers association; liu jiayin, a screenwriter, director, and associate professor of the department of literature at the beijing film academy; shuang xuetao, a novelist; xie fei, a film director, screenwriter, and producer; yang qingxiang, a poet, critic, and professor and doctoral supervisor at the school of literature of renmin university of china; and zhu wen, a writer, screenwriter, and director. in addition, this unit continues to invite poet and critic ouyang jianghe to serve as a program planning consultant.
