u.s. prosecutors said a trial in the case has been scheduled for october 8. if convicted, the two men could face up to 10 years in prison.
it is understood that after the incident, the u.s. national park service, which is investigating the case, sought help from the public to identify the two men who destroyed the ancient rocks in the video.

it is reported that the lake mead recreation area was established in 1936 and covers about 6,000 square kilometers along the colorado river. it extends from the western edge of the grand canyon national park to below the davis dam. about 6 million tourists are attracted to the sandstone formations on the red rock trail every year. these sandstone formations were formed over time by 140 million years of sand dunes. in recent years, due to extreme drought, the lake level has dropped sharply, exposing some shipwrecks and human remains.
