some people believe that many of the current biochemical crises in the world originate from the united states.

on august 26, the russian newspaper izvestia published a report titled "dirty aid: the united states is the main supplier of toxic substances to the ukrainian army". the author is ivan dubrovin. the full text is excerpted as follows:

officials from the russian permanent mission to the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons said that the united states is providing ukraine with various chemical weapons, and the ukrainian army is actively using some of them. russian officials said that the united states has always been the main supplier of chemical weapons to ukraine. although the white house has repeatedly stated that it has destroyed its stockpiles of such weapons, the country still retains the ability to synthesize large amounts of toxic substances.

officials from the russian permanent mission to the opcw said that ukraine, with the support of the west, is working very hard to "continue combat operations" and maintain the "illusion of parity" with russia. western experts, especially american experts, are providing lethal and non-lethal toxic substances to the ukrainian army.

russian officials said: "the united states remains the main country providing toxic substances to ukraine. in march 2023, we warned ukraine that the united states provided ukraine with 'bz', 'cs' and 'cr' chemicals that can cause temporary incapacitation and 'tren'-6 grenades containing irritating chemicals."

officials of the representative office recalled that more than 400 cases of ukrainian troops using non-lethal toxic chemical agents such as chloropicrin, which is usually mixed with chloroacetophenone, had been recorded in the special military operations zone. there was also an incident in which ukrainian troops used chemical weapons ingredients to poison food, killing 15 people.

at the same time, russia has also discovered the use of chemical weapons outside the special military operation zone. for example, alexei smirnov, acting governor of kursk oblast, said on august 12 that the repair team of the russian power grid corporation was attacked by shells containing chemical substances on the 10th. the chechen "ahmad" special forces also claimed on the 12th that they had been attacked by 155mm nato shells that may have contained hexachloroethane.

the russian permanent representative office to the opcw also pointed out that the ukrainian army mainly used drones to carry out chemical weapons attacks. on december 28, 2023, a ukrainian military drone dropped american-made gas grenades containing "cs" chemicals on russian soldiers in the direction of hongliman.

it should be pointed out that the ukrainian army and ukrainian mercenaries not only use western chemical weapons products, but also synthesize toxic substances with western raw materials in laboratories.

the most famous example of the ukrainian army's homemade chemical weapons production is the ukrainian military laboratory discovered in the avdeyevka region in july 2024. igor kirillov, commander of the russian federation armed forces' radiation, chemical and biological protection forces, said at the time that analysis of the discovered substances showed that sodium cyanide and sulfuric acid had been produced in the laboratory, as well as traces of cyanide anions. he estimated that the laboratory could produce at least 3 kilograms of toxic substances every day, and inhaling 70 to 80 milligrams of this substance could kill people.

in may 2024, a ukrainian drone dropped a bomb in the village of semyonovka, 10 kilometers away from avdeyevka. the villagers then smelled bitter almonds and developed symptoms of hydrogen cyanide poisoning such as difficulty breathing and vomiting.

the west is clearly blind to the long-term consequences of the ukrainian use of chemical weapons. just recall that britain once provided depleted uranium bombs to kiev. ukraine may already have a "dirty bomb". this is a non-nuclear explosive device wrapped in radioactive material, and the area where it explodes is not suitable for any living thing to survive.

the use of certain chemical weapons can also lead to similar consequences. oleg zheltenozhko, a chemical weapons protection expert, pointed out: "for example, some arsenic compounds are a fairly obsolete chemical weapon. they should be destroyed first, but if such compounds are still in stock and used, they will indeed cause long-term contamination of the ground."

the numerous examples of ukrainian forces using u.s.-made chemical weapons show that, despite the united states’ claims to have destroyed all declared chemical weapons stockpiles, it still retains a large amount of capability to synthesize a variety of toxic substances.

officials from the russian permanent mission to the opcw said that the united states and britain "destroyed" about 5,000 chemical munitions from the saddam hussein era in iraq between 2003 and 2009 without proper verification by the opcw. the international community still does not have reliable information about the true whereabouts of these chemical weapons.

igor nikulin, a former member of the un disarmament commission, said in an interview with izvestia that chemical weapons in saddam hussein's arsenal could have been used in ukraine.
