5G has been in commercial use in my country for five years. my country has built the world's largest and most technologically advanced 5G network and has developed a wealth of application scenarios. From automated production lines to self-driving cars, from drones that cross mountains and rivers to remotely linked operating rooms, 5G is being fully integrated into all walks of life. More than 70% of the 97 major categories of the national economy use 5G, which has effectively promoted the high-quality development of my country's economy and society. According to estimates by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, since the commercial use of 5G, it has directly driven a total economic output of about 5.6 trillion yuan and indirectly driven a total economic output of about 14 trillion yuan.

As a basic technology and new infrastructure for realizing the Internet of Everything and the intelligent revolution, 5G provides fertile soil for the incubation of various innovative applications and becomes the "highway" for the development of digital China. It should also be noted that the development of mobile communication technology has its own cycle, with a new generation about every 10 years. Today, 5G has reached the halfway point. How to make good connections in equipment updates, technology upgrades, and application expansion while further promoting large-scale commercial applications, and prepare for the arrival of the next generation of communication technology, has become the key to the "second half" of 5G commercialization.

Looking back at the development history of 5G, adhering to the principle of "moderately ahead of the times and promoting use through construction" is a valuable experience in promoting the rapid and healthy development of the industry. The proactive and prudent development strategy has put us in a favorable position for development. As of the end of June this year, there were 3.917 million 5G base stations in my country, with over 90% of them being jointly built and shared; my country's 5G key technologies have achieved an overall breakthrough, with the number of 5G standard essential patent declarations accounting for over 42% of the world, forming a relatively complete 5G industry chain covering systems, chips, terminals and other links... This has paved the way for the emergence of new technologies, new formats and new models. From the perspective of industry practice, driven by both technological evolution and market demand, new technologies such as 5G-A and 5G lightweight have emerged, providing a possible path for the development of 5G to 6G. These new technologies can provide faster, more reliable, and lower-cost network connections, further consolidate the network foundation of the Internet of Everything, and better meet the needs of scenarios such as precise control and collaborative operations. At present, many domestic telecom operators are accelerating the layout of this new track.
