Recently, at the 2024 Summer Inbound and Outbound Tourism Salon held by Deep Blue Think Tank, Yang Jinsong, director of the International Research Institute of the China Tourism Academy, said in his keynote speech that under the trend of accelerated recovery, outbound tourism still shows a trend of being dominated by the short-distance market on the one hand; on the other hand, the proportion of individual tourists is increasing, and outbound tourism also shows a new trend of personalized, complex and fragmented travel. In the face of current development conditions and challenges, Yang Jinsong suggested that tourism management departments, market players and destinations should systematically guarantee the safety, convenience, equality and quality of Chinese citizens' overseas travel from a multi-perspective perspective.

Mainly in the short-distance market

Since the beginning of 2023, the recovery of the outbound tourism supply chain and China's outbound tourism has shown a clear acceleration trend.

Yang Jinsong introduced the basic situation of outbound tourism in the first half of 2024 using the data of outbound tourism activities organized by flights and travel agencies as examples.
