Ukrainian President Zelensky said on the 27th that the Ukrainian military recently successfully tested the first domestically-produced ballistic missile.
According to reports from AFP and the Kyiv Independent, Zelensky said on Tuesday that the Ukrainian army had successfully tested a domestically produced ballistic missile for the first time in recent days. He said at a press conference in the capital Kiev: "Ukraine's first ballistic missile was tested positively. I congratulate our defense industry. I can't reveal more details about this missile."

As part of its efforts to reduce its dependence on Western military aid, Ukraine has been trying to develop its own military industry and encourage military production on its own territory, AFP said.
The Kiev Independent reported that the day before, Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov said that the Ukrainian army was preparing to use its own weapons to respond to Russian air strikes.
Last week, Zelensky also revealed that the Ukrainian army had deployed a domestically-made long-range "drone missile" called "Palianytsia" in combat for the first time.
