[Global Times Report] According to Reuters, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Sersky said on the 27th that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in Russia's Kursk region is still advancing, but he also warned that Russia is gathering troops on the Pokrovsk front in the Donetsk region, and the Russian army has been advancing the offensive in the region, and "the situation is quite difficult."
According to reports, Serski made the above remarks in a video speech broadcast on television that day. He said, "The situation on the Pokrovsk front is quite difficult... The enemy (Russian army) is taking advantage of its advantages in manpower, weapons and military equipment and actively using artillery and aviation (force)."
Serski also revealed that Russia is currently strengthening its military forces on the Pokrovsk front.
According to reports, Pokrovsk is a coal mining city and as a transportation hub, the city also has strategic military value.
At the same time, the report said that Serski also mentioned that Ukraine's three-week offensive in the Kursk region has occupied 100 settlements. He said that the Ukrainian army has captured 594 Russian military personnel in the operation in the region. Reuters said that this is the first time Serski has disclosed this number.
As of press time, there has been no response from the Russian side to Serski's remarks.
