According to Dongfang.com, after the large-scale Internet outage, a telecommunications staff member released a message about the emergency:
Around 17:30 on August 26, 2024, some broadband services of Shanghai Telecom were abnormal. Shanghai Telecom is currently making every effort to repair and troubleshoot. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to you!
In addition, another staff member said, "The broadband bus in Shanghai is broken. Please be patient. Repairs are underway."
At 19:35, China Telecom Shanghai Customer Service posted a Weibo post saying: Around 17:30, some broadband services of Shanghai Telecom experienced abnormalities. After emergency repairs, they were fully restored to normal at 18:05. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to you!
