On August 26, local time, the "China-Panama Trade Matchmaking Conference and Signing Ceremony" was held in Panama City, the capital of Panama. Li Xingqian, Director of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Carlos Hoyos, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of Panama, Xu Xueyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Panama, and nearly 150 entrepreneurs and representatives from China and Panama attended the event and held trade negotiations.A total of 10 trade agreements were signed at the ceremony.

In an interview, Carlos Hoyos, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of Panama, expressed the hope that Panamanian companies and farmers could take this opportunity to explore the vast Chinese market. China's population and market size hold great business opportunities for Panama.

Li Xingqian, Director of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of China, said that in the seven years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations have developed steadily and economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results. The Chinese trade promotion delegation will allow more Chinese companies to understand the Panamanian market and enterprises, introduce more Panamanian high-quality and advantageous products into the Chinese market, and add new impetus to the development of China-Panama economic and trade relations. China hopes that the two sides will resume the negotiations on the China-Panama Free Trade Agreement as soon as possible, so that the dividends of free trade cooperation can benefit the companies and people of the two countries as soon as possible. This year, China will also hold the 7th China International Import Expo and other important exhibitions. We sincerely welcome Panamanian companies to participate in the exhibition in China, increase the promotion of Panamanian high-quality agricultural products, and continuously expand the Chinese market to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Juan Alias, president of the Panama Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, said that exploring the market of a big country like China is a good opportunity for a small country like Panama. Xu Xueyuan, Chinese ambassador to Panama, said that the relationship and trade exchanges between China and Panama are of vital importance. China has become one of Panama's important trading partners.
