On August 26, Ukrainian President Zelensky said on social media that the Russian army "used more than 100 missiles and about 100 drones in a large-scale attack on Ukraine that day, causing heavy losses to Ukraine's energy industry." Zelensky called on allies to "comply with the agreement to supply air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine."
According to a statement released by the military and political management department of Kiev, local air defense forces shot down about 15 missiles and 15 drones.
