At around 9 a.m. on August 26, local time in Thailand, more than 400 tons of "Yunnan vegetables" departed from the Yanhe Station of the China-Laos Railway in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, and arrived at the fruit and vegetable market in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be placed on the tables of Thai citizens in the afternoon.
At 16:00 Beijing time on August 23, this batch of cabbage, peppers, broccoli and other vegetables from Yuxi Hongta District and Tonghai County departed from the Yanhe Station of the China-Laos Railway in Yuxi City on a cold chain international freight train, marking the normalization of the China-Laos Railway's export cold chain international transportation.

The train departs from Yuxi, Yunnan, runs to Vientiane, Laos via the China-Laos Railway, and then is transported to Bangkok, Thailand by road. "Compared with pure road transportation, cold chain international freight trains have the characteristics of lower freight costs, more stable timeliness, and better temperature control." Lu Yang, head of Jiangsu Feilida International Logistics Co., Ltd., a trader, said that after the vegetables arrive at the wholesale market in Bangkok, Thailand, they will be delivered to local restaurants and supermarkets by local vendors and can be placed on the tables of citizens that afternoon.

As Yunnan's advantageous and characteristic export agricultural product, "Yunnan vegetables" ranks first in terms of export value and export volume among all southwestern provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and its export volume accounts for more than 10% of the country's total vegetable exports. As the China-Laos Railway's export cold chain international transportation enters the normalization stage, it will greatly expand the international market for characteristic agricultural products such as "Yunnan vegetables". "At present, we have more than 20 varieties of vegetables shipped to Thailand by cold chain international freight trains. In the next step, we will continue to increase the varieties, expand coverage of the Thai market, and radiate to countries and regions such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia." Lu Yang said.
