CCTV News: From August 21 to 25, Chongqing experienced widespread sustained high temperature weather. Nine districts and counties including Beibei, Shapingba, Tongnan, Hechuan, Rongchang, Bishan, Jiangjin, Fengjie, Pengshui and parts of the central urban area experienced maximum daily temperatures exceeding 40°C for five consecutive days. Ten districts and counties including Tongliang, Yongchuan, Qijiang, Changshou, Fengdu, Zhongxian, Wanzhou, Yunyang, Wuxi and Kaizhou experienced maximum daily temperatures exceeding 40°C for three consecutive days.

It is expected that from August 26 to September 4, Chongqing will continue to have sunny, hot and high temperature weather, with the maximum daily temperature above 37℃ in most areas. Among them, the maximum daily temperature in 37 districts and counties below 400 meters above sea level, including Yuzhong, Shapingba, Dadukou, Jiangbei, Jiulongpo, Nan'an, Liangjiang New Area, High-tech Zone, Yubei, Beibei, Banan, Tongnan, Hechuan, Dazu, Tongliang, Bishan, Rongchang, Yongchuan, Jiangjin, Qijiang, Wansheng Economic Development Zone, Nanchuan, Changshou, Dianjiang, Fuling, Fengdu, Zhongxian, Liangping, Wanzhou, Kaizhou, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wuxi, Wushan, Wulong, Pengshui and Shizhu, can reach 40-43℃; in 4 districts and counties below 600 meters above sea level, including Chengkou, Qianjiang, Youyang and Xiushan, the maximum daily temperature can reach 37-39℃, and heat stroke is very likely to occur.

At 17:00 on August 26, 2024, the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and the Chongqing Meteorological Bureau upgraded the "Level 2 Warning for Heat Stroke" issued at 14:00 on August 23 to "Level 1 Warning for Heat Stroke".
