On the 25th, the China University of Geosciences (Beijing)-Hualong County targeted assistance work symposium and donation activity was held in Hualong Hui Autonomous County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, which is known as the "Hometown of Ramen".
Lei Yalin introduced that since the paired assistance in 2013, the school has successively sent a number of cadres to Hualong to carry out targeted assistance work. She said: "They give full play to their own strengths and advantages and play a bridging role. While leaving their footprints and sweat in Hualong with green mountains and clear waters, they also closely connect the feelings of the people of northern China with the people of Hualong."
At the symposium, Lei Yalin summarized the cooperation and achievements of the two sides in various fields. "In the past eleven years, we have continuously adjusted and optimized the assistance measures in terms of capital and resource introduction, science and technology industry, consumption, and activation of endogenous driving forces according to the actual needs of Hualong County."

Previously, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) took advantage of its famous geological tourism major to conduct a detailed investigation and exploration of the distribution and characteristics of geological relics and cultural tourism resources in Ahetan Village, Gandu Town, Hualong County, and gradually promoted quality upgrades from point to surface.
Ye Xiang, deputy secretary of the Hualong County Party Committee and county magistrate, said in his speech: "Hualong County has taken advantage of the important opportunity of targeted assistance from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) to make Ahetan the first geological cultural village in Qinghai Province, the first geological cultural village along the Yellow River, and the first geological cultural village among ethnic minority villages in China. In addition, we must rely on the majors of famous universities to expand and strengthen the Yellow River, deeply explore and display the folk culture along the Yellow River, continue the splendid civilization nurtured by a great river, and develop the road to enriching the people created by a bowl of ramen."
"The support from famous universities is mainly to give full play to their educational advantages." Ye Xiang said that the school and the local government have successfully created educational support brand projects such as the "Snow Lotus" scholarship, the "Dandelion in the Mountains" teaching practice team, the "Dream Building Hualong Scholarship", "Hualong Students Entering Beijing" and "Enlightenment and Ability Development". During this period, the amount of funding from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) exceeded 2.6 million yuan (RMB, the same below).
That evening, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) donated medical equipment worth RMB 2.2 million and equipment maintenance fees of RMB 198,000 to Hualong County and presented a gift for the county's 70th anniversary. During the donation ceremony, Ye Xiang expressed his gratitude to the guests from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and presented a banner.
Finally, Lei Yalin expressed the hope that the school and the local government, on the basis of stabilizing the support policies and strengthening innovation leadership, would further expand the areas of cooperation, deepen the dimensions of cooperation, actively explore cooperation opportunities in multiple fields such as education, culture, and consumption, and promote resource sharing and complementary advantages.
