On the evening of August 25, continuous rainfall caused the municipal main drainage system around the Redwood Yipin Community in Shengli Street, Shunyi District to overload, resulting in severe waterlogging on the roads. The accumulated water poured into the basements and elevator shafts of residential buildings. Street, community, and property staff pumped out the water overnight, and it took more than five hours to clear the water and restore the normal operation of the elevators.
That night, the accumulated water on the road could not be drained in time, and water seepage occurred in the basement of Unit 4, Building 2, Hongshan Yipin Community. Some of the water flowed into the elevator shaft and flowed down along the elevator ceiling, directly affecting the normal operation of the elevator. This sudden situation brought great inconvenience to residents' travel.
Faced with this emergency, the Shengli Subdistrict Office's safety department, community, property staff and fire brigade members immediately arrived at the scene to handle the emergency. Everyone divided the work, with firefighters and property staff operating pumping equipment to pump out the water; the subdistrict safety department and community staff carried sandbags to block the various openings where the water spread. After the large area of water was pumped out, everyone picked up brooms and mops to clear some of the water on the floor of the building. Professional maintenance personnel inspected and repaired the elevator equipment.
After more than 5 hours of hard work, the accumulated water in the basement and elevator shaft was cleared, and the elevator equipment was carefully inspected and repaired and restored to normal operation.
