On August 24, four middle schools in Meijiang District, Meizhou City, namely Meizhou Middle School, Jiaying Middle School, Leyu Middle School and Lianhe Middle School, held the opening ceremony of the 2024 military training for the first-year high school students.
"Everyone! Stand at attention!" The freshmen of Lianhe Middle School straightened their chests at the command of the instructor, watching the bright red national flag rise and flutter in the wind. At the same time, at Meizhou Middle School, the freshmen of the 2024 grade gathered in the gymnasium, and the military training opening ceremony kicked off with the solemn national anthem.
It is understood that the training for high school freshmen this time is full of "military" flavor. First, it is rich in military theories, and national defense education lectures will be held to understand the development process and fine traditions of the People's Army, military theories and basic knowledge; second, the military training projects are diverse, including individual soldier formation movements, dagger exercises, grappling boxing, simulated shooting, etc.; third, the military atmosphere is strong, and students are organized to learn to sing military songs, watch military films and other activities, so that students can have a deeper understanding of the meaning and importance of national defense education.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Meijiang District People's Armed Forces Department, this military training was carried out in accordance with the "Military Training Syllabus for High School Students", focusing on combining military training with conscription propaganda, national defense education with moral education and physical education, carrying out rich and colorful supporting activities, and striving to cultivate young students' patriotism and sense of home and country, tempering students' tenacious will and forging a strong physique.
In the next step, the Meijiang District People’s Armed Forces Department will work with the Meijiang District Education Bureau to supervise and inspect each school in a “four no’s and two direct” manner to ensure the successful completion of the 2024 high school freshmen military training.
