The 4th Deans Forum on Talent Training in the Automotive Industry is themed "Cross-Integration for the Training of Excellent Engineers for the Future", building an exchange platform for the industry and the education community. By gathering education experts and industry elites, they will exchange and discuss topics such as discipline integration, driving professional construction, curriculum reform, industry-education integration, and talent standards, build consensus, and explore practical paths for a team of engineers with Chinese characteristics that is good at solving complex engineering problems and has a composite knowledge structure.
"In recent years, the automotive industry has achieved remarkable development and historic breakthroughs, especially in the fields of electrification and intelligence. China has not only seized the opportunity for change, but also led the change on a global scale and formed a leading advantage. Faced with the innovative development needs of the automotive industry and the international competitive situation, it is crucial to strengthen the reform and innovation of talent training models." said Hou Fushen, vice president and secretary general of the China Society of Automotive Engineers.
Shen Xuefeng, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, emphasized the importance of cultivating interdisciplinary and compound talents. He called for exploring new paradigms of engineering education through building communication platforms, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and collaborative training between schools and enterprises, so as to cultivate outstanding engineers who can adapt to the future development of the automotive industry.
In order to implement the fundamental task of cultivating talents with moral integrity, assist the construction of new engineering disciplines in colleges and universities, improve the quality of talent training in the automotive industry, and encourage young teachers to continuously improve teaching methods and improve the quality of education and teaching, the Automotive Technology Education Branch of the China Society of Automotive Engineers held the 2nd China Society of Automotive Engineers Young Teachers Teaching Competition. After fierce competition, 3 first prizes, 9 second prizes, and 9 third prizes were selected.
Zhang Ning, honorary chairperson of the Talent Work Committee of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, delivered a speech entitled "Analysis of the Current Situation and Demand of New Energy Vehicle Talents". In her report, she mentioned that the talent pool in the new energy vehicle field is constantly expanding and is becoming younger and more professionally diversified.
"From the talent demand side, on the one hand, there is a large talent gap, and on the other hand, companies need more compound talents and international talents, and have higher requirements for talent quality. From the talent supply side, the current quality of talents cultivated by colleges and universities can basically meet the needs of the industry. There is still room for updating and improvement in the content setting, faculty, teaching materials, and integration of industry and education of some courses." she said.
She emphasized that in the future, the automotive industry will develop in the direction of diversified technological routes and increasingly fierce international competition, which will place higher requirements on the knowledge structure and ability quality of talents. There is still a lot of work to be done to improve the quality of the talent team.
It is reported that this conference will include 1 plenary session, 4 closed-door meetings, 5 theme sub-venues, 40 keynote reports and 1 round-table forum, covering hot topics in talent training in the automotive industry.
