According to a report by RIA Novosti on August 24, Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground organization in Ukraine's Nikolaev Oblast, said that Russian armed forces launched multiple attacks on Ukrainian military facilities and personnel in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine, including a team of Ukrainian troops that was supposed to be sent to Russia's Kursk Oblast.
According to the report, Lebedev said that the Ukrainian troops to be transferred to Kursk Oblast were attacked by two aerial demolition bombs in Glukhov. "The exact death toll is unknown, but no less than 20. The situation of others is not very clear: more than 20 people were injured, and some people fled and never came back."
Lebedev said that the village of Beryoza in Sumy Oblast was a transfer point for Ukrainian military weapons and equipment and a temporary ammunition depot. The Russian army fired five aerial demolition bombs at the village at once. There was a railway passing through the area, and the Ukrainian army directly unloaded weapons and equipment from the train and hid them in the grassland and bushes. It was also the intersection of two large highways and an agricultural company, whose warehouse temporarily stored weapons, and a bomb hit it.
Lebedev said that the armament repair plant in Belopoliye was also targeted by the Russian army, where there were 22 tracked vehicles and nearly 30 Ukrainian soldiers. The Russian army also attacked the Khutor Mikhailovsky Station, the main railway hub in Sumy Oblast, with a bomb hitting the fuel and lubricant warehouse inside the station. (Compiled by Tong Shiqun)
