On the evening of August 23, the Hebei Bangzi classic play "Spring is Coming" was played at the Geological Culture Square in Qianjiadian Town, Yanqing District, marking the official opening of the five-day "Hundred Miles Landscape Gallery Mass Drama Cultural Festival". From August 23 to August 27, the Geological Culture Square will host wonderful drama performances every day at 19:00.
During the festival, more than 50 wonderful plays covering Pingju, Hebei Bangzi, Peking Opera, Huangmei Opera and other genres will be performed in turn. The organizers specially invited Wu Shouyong, a well-known amateur opera fan, Zhang Shuyun, a favorite student of Pingju art master Zhang Shugui, and other famous opera masters to take charge, and brought together local art forces such as Qianjiadian Town Yunfei Art Troupe, Beijing Yihaiqingshen Culture Media Co., Ltd. and Qianjiadian Town Farmers Cultural Troupe.
The cultural festival adopts the form of "main venue in the town and extended to village-level sub-venues". In addition to the main venue in the Geological Cultural Square, there are also several sub-venues in Xia Delongwan Village, Huapen Village, Pingtaizi Village, etc. Classic plays such as Pingju "The Green Lantern Illuminating the White Head", Hebei Bangzi "The Lotus Lantern", and Peking Opera "Praise of the Red Plum" will be performed in turn, allowing villagers to enjoy high-quality opera art at their doorstep.
Qianjiadian Town has a profound opera culture and has successfully held four large-scale drama events since 2016, with a broad mass base. It is worth mentioning that this cultural festival also specially set up an interactive session of "theater troupe performing, students learning", providing young people with opportunities to get close to and learn about opera culture through the forms of opera entering campuses and communities.
