On August 22, a tripartite presidents’ meeting between Guizhou University for Nationalities, Vietnam’s Da Nang Normal University and Malaysia’s New Era University College was held at Guizhou University for Nationalities.

At the meeting, Wang Lin, President of Guizhou University for Nationalities, Vo Van Minh, President of Da Nang Normal University of Vietnam, and Mok Soon Chong, President of New Era University College of Malaysia, respectively introduced the history, characteristics, current development and future direction of their schools, and conducted in-depth discussions on seeking cooperation and common development among the three parties.
Wang Lin introduced that as a key university in Guizhou Province, Guizhou University for Nationalities has actively served the construction of the "Belt and Road", established the second batch of "Belt and Road" country and regional research centers of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the ASEAN Humanities College, and made Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese language education an important content. With the help of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week platform, it has played its comparative advantages, cooperated with universities in relevant ASEAN countries, strengthened cultural exchanges, promoted academic interactions, enhanced common friendship, and promoted common development.

Vo Van Minh introduced that Vietnam Da Nang Normal University is one of the six member institutions of Da Nang University (one of the three key regional universities in Vietnam), and is also one of the seven key teaching universities selected by the Ministry of Education and Training for investment. The school is committed to carrying out education, training and scientific research in the three important fields of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, and science education, and has achieved extensive and in-depth cooperation with enterprises and regions. All parties are working hand in hand and the connection is getting closer. He said that he hopes to take this opportunity to enhance everyone's understanding of Vietnam Da Nang Normal University and promote more lasting cooperation and development between the two sides.

Mok Soon Chong, president of New Era University College in Malaysia, introduced that the school has opened master's and doctoral programs in Chinese studies and Southeast Asian studies for this purpose, hoping to cultivate more "China experts" in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, as well as "Southeast Asia experts" in China. He said that he looks forward to cooperating with Guizhou University for Nationalities to jointly build a bridge for mutual learning and communication and further promote people-to-people exchanges.
