Phoenix Finance reported on August 22 that a resolution of the board of directors of Bank of China attracted widespread attention in the market. Because Liu Jin, vice chairman and president of Bank of China, did not attend the meeting due to "other arrangements" and did not authorize others to exercise voting rights on his behalf, the final voting result of the board of directors of Bank of China was only 13 votes, which should be 14 votes under normal circumstances.

The announcement shows that the Bank of China's board of directors was chaired by Chairman Ge Haijiao, and the deliberations mainly included the replacement of accounting firms and audit fees. Bank of China plans to hire Ernst & Young Huaming and Ernst & Young as domestic and international auditors for 2024, respectively. They will replace the previously appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhongtian and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In terms of audit fees, in 2024, the audit fees for Bank of China's financial statements will be 49.4992 million yuan, and the internal control audit fees will be 11.0008 million yuan, totaling 60.5 million yuan.

Public information shows that Liu Jin was born in 1967, is 57 years old, and has extensive experience in the financial industry. Before joining Bank of China, he served as president of the Jiangsu Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, vice president of the China Development Bank, and president of China Everbright Bank.

On February 25, 2021, Liu Jin officially took office at Bank of China as deputy secretary of the Party Committee and was proposed to be appointed as vice chairman and president. In April of the same year, Liu Jin was appointed president of Bank of China, and two months later he concurrently served as vice chairman. From August 2021, Liu Jin concurrently served as vice chairman of BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited. From April 2023 to March 2024, he concurrently served as chairman of BOC Aviation Limited.
