Recently, a 10-year-old girl named Lin from Harbin died after an accident during a minimally invasive tonsil surgery in a hospital. On August 22, the Harbin Municipal Health Commission responded to a reporter from Jimu News that an investigation had been launched into the matter.

Lin's father, Mr. Lin, told Jimu News that his daughter had a minimally invasive tonsil surgery at Beijing Children's Hospital Heilongjiang Branch at noon on August 6. She entered the operating room at 12:40 p.m. that day, and about an hour later, the hospital notified her that the surgery was successful and that she would be sent to the recovery room to wait for recovery.

At around 2:30 p.m. that day, the doctor suddenly informed the parents that the child had a cough and lung bleeding and needed to be sent to the ICU. In the subsequent rescue, the child was ultimately ineffective. At around 4:50 p.m., Mr. Lin and his wife were told to go see their daughter for the last time.

Mr. Lin said that according to the operating room video provided by the hospital afterwards, his daughter was rescued directly on the operating table and was not sent to the ICU at that time. They also found that a doctor had looked at his mobile phone several times during the operation, and the deputy anesthesiologist Jin, who had been on the scene to monitor the patient's vital signs after the operation, did not immediately notice his daughter's abnormality. It was the chief anesthesiologist Yang who had left the operating room before and returned 5 minutes after the operation (1:41 pm) and began to take emergency measures. However, in the first 17 minutes of rescue, it was always two anesthesiologists and nurses who were rescuing the patient, and the chief surgeon Gao did not appear in the operating room again until 1:58 pm.

On the 22nd, Jimu News reporter called the Medical Department of Beijing Children's Hospital Heilongjiang Branch, and the staff said that the matter was being investigated by relevant department staff. The reporter called Li and Jin, the directors of Beijing Children's Hospital Heilongjiang Branch, but no one answered.

The death record issued by the hospital to the family stated that Lin's surgery ended at 1:36 p.m. on August 6. At this time, the patient's vital signs were stable and his blood oxygen saturation was 99%. At 1:43 p.m., the patient's blood oxygen saturation suddenly dropped to 92%. At 2:10 p.m., the patient's blood oxygen saturation suddenly dropped to 38%, and bloody secretions were constantly sucked out of the trachea. At 3 p.m., Lan from the respiratory department joined the rescue and asked Yu, director of the PICU, to participate in the rescue, but the rescue was ultimately ineffective and Lin died clinically at 5 p.m.

Staff from the Harbin Municipal Health Commission and the Daoli District Health Bureau told Jimu News reporters that an investigation into the matter has been launched and is still ongoing.

Lin Moumou's mother, Ms. Tang, told Jimu News that an autopsy was conducted on August 13 to find out the cause of her daughter's death, but the results of the autopsy will not be available until 60 working days.
