On August 22, the reporter learned from the organizing committee of the 2024 "Qianfeng Cup" China Fashion Innovation Design Competition that after expert review at the preliminary review meeting, 30 works were shortlisted for the finals. The finals will be held in Qianfeng District, Guang'an City in late September.
The 2024 "Qianfeng Cup" China Fashion Innovation Design Competition is guided by the China National Garment Association, hosted by the Qianfeng District Textile, Footwear and Clothing Chamber of Commerce of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, and undertaken by the School of Fashion of Wuhan Textile University. The competition is themed "Red Qianfeng, Smart Future", aims to discover innovative clothing design talents, and help the clothing industry develop towards "new" and "quality", and solicits submissions from clothing design enthusiasts across the country.
The competition was officially launched in early July. After nearly two months of collecting manuscripts, the organizing committee received a total of 362 manuscripts submitted by designers from more than 20 provincial-level administrative regions across the country. The competition was reviewed on August 19 at the Clothing Informatization Experimental Center of Wuhan Textile University. The review panel was composed of the top ten fashion designers in China and senior experts from universities.
According to reports, the entries came from more than 60 professional colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Soochow University, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Southwest University, and more than 10 clothing companies and independent designers, including Zhongqiao Sports Co., Ltd. and Lilang (China) Co., Ltd. These works interpreted the theme from different angles, reflecting the designers' unique perspectives and understanding of the Chinese clothing industry.
The judging panel conducted a careful and detailed review of the entries based on the principles of fairness and impartiality in terms of creativity, materials, color, structure, matching, and integrity, and ultimately 30 works were shortlisted for the finals.
"Through the competition, on the one hand, we can showcase the development achievements of Qianfeng District's light textile industry; on the other hand, we can attract good talents, introduce new resources, build a high platform, and create a new pattern, which will help the future development of Qianfeng District's light textile industry." A relevant person in charge of the Qianfeng District Textile, Shoes and Clothing Chamber of Commerce said.
