Tesla Cybertruck is equipped with a machine gun

Phoenix.com Technology News, August 22, Beijing time, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov released a video this week of himself driving a Tesla Cybertruck with a device on top that looked like a machine gun, which caused a sensation on social media.

Kadyrov also claimed that Cybertruck will soon be sent to the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield. "I believe this 'beast' will greatly benefit our soldiers."

But one military expert told Business Insider that while the spruced-up electric car looks like something out of Star Wars and might actually work in some rough terrain,But this electric car would likely prove to be useless on the battlefield.

Mark Cancian, a retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel and senior advisor for the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said:"Where can I charge my Tesla on the battlefield? There are no Tesla charging stations on the front line in Donbass."

Kadyrov, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, also praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk, saying Chechnya received a Tesla Cybertruck from Musk himself. But Musk later denied the claim on X, "Are you really that retarded? You think I donated a Cybertruck to a Russian general?"

Military experts stressed to Business Insider that Kadyrov's deployment of the Tesla Cybertruck to the battlefield would only serve as a gimmick and would not have much practical significance.Because the vehicle requires electricity, it uses an electric motor and rechargeable batteries rather than a traditional gasoline engine - but these charging equipment and power generation infrastructure are often scarce on the front lines of combat.

“Maybe you could bring your own generator and connect it to a socket designed specifically for Tesla and run the generator to power your electric car. But what’s the value of that?”

The expert acknowledged that in rare cases, Cybertruck could be useful to the Russian military, saying the vehicle's quietness could make up for its inconvenience in special operations.

But he added that most vehicles of similar size already meet the need for low noise when driving.Kadyrov's decision to equip the Tesla Cybertruck with a long-range machine gun contradicts the vehicle's concealment advantage.

Therefore, military experts concluded: "This is cool, but completely useless." (Author/Chen Helin)
