From August 16 to 21, the Pomegranate Seeds Homeland Tour·"I Have a Home in Beijing" Youth Study Camp, jointly organized by the Beijing Youth League Committee, Beijing Aid to Xinjiang Hotan Command, Xinjiang Hotan Youth League Committee, and Beijing Youth Development Foundation, was held in Beijing. 36 primary school students from Xinjiang Hotan Prefecture and Kunyu City of the 14th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps gathered in the capital Beijing to spend a happy summer vacation with their "Beijing relatives".
The main content of this study camp is "pairing and holding hands, theme team days, traditional culture, and red education". It focuses on ideological guidance, emotional exchange, and cultural identity, promotes exchanges and integration between young people in Beijing and other places, and further strengthens the sense of community of the Chinese nation.
It is understood that the "I Have a Home in Beijing" project was jointly initiated by the Beijing Youth League Committee and the Beijing Youth Development Foundation. The project has raised more than 8.8 million yuan in donations, funded 4,303 young people, and carried out more than 20 two-way emotional exchange activities, planting the seeds of love for learning, love for the capital, and love for the motherland in the hearts of young people in ethnic minority areas.
During the study tour in Beijing, the children visited the Forbidden City, Old Summer Palace, the Bird's Nest, the Water Cube, the China Science and Technology Museum, the Beijing City Library, and the Beijing Arts and Crafts Museum, and experienced the ancient and modern appearance of the capital Beijing in all aspects. At the request of the children, the study camp also organized everyone to go to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony.
"This is my first time in Beijing. When we saw the flag guard escorting the national flag, we were deeply shocked." Abdubasit Tusunbake from Hotan County said at the summary meeting of the study camp.
