Established in Yuanshan, Shenzhen eyewear design for more than 20 years

Chen Jinhui has several identities: founder of Yisheng (Shenzhen) Glasses Technology Company, manager of Shenzhen Baro Brand Management Company, honorary winner of Shenzhen Top Ten Gold Designers, director of Shenzhen Glasses Intellectual Property Protection Workstation, etc. Ten years ago, he won the title of "Top Ten Gold Designers" at the first Shenzhen Henggang Glasses Designer Competition, which made him stand out in the industry, started his own business, and began his "glasses" career.


Yisheng (Shenzhen) Eyewear Technology was established in 2014. After 10 years, it was featured in CCTV's Finance Channel in 2016 and 2023. It is an internship base for four colleges and universities, including the School of Optometry Engineering of Tianjin Vocational University, Shenzhen Information Vocational and Technical College, Shenzhen Xiechuang Senior Technical School, and Guangdong Science and Trade Vocational College. The company has 54 patented technologies and a technical research and development team that has won the German Red Dot Award, the China Eyewear Gold Medal Award, and the Supreme Award. The average team member has been in the industry for more than 16 years. Team members have participated in the scientific and technological innovation projects of more than a dozen group companies, the development of smart glasses carriers, such as appearance design, structural design, mold design, etc., and assisted in the production transformation and commercialization of projects.

Chen Jinhui attaches great importance to research and development. He believes that enterprises should focus on research and development and design and operate their own brands. He united the strength of local eyewear designers in Shenzhen, helped to create the country's first original international eyewear designer team "Design Fan", and organized original designer brands to participate in exhibitions in many places across the country. "Design Fan" has grown from 2 in 2015 to 45 original designer brands participating in the exhibition, becoming a designer team with great development potential for Shenzhen eyewear brands, and promoting Shenzhen eyewear brands to "go global in groups". He founded the Barlo brand of glasses, has been engaged in eyewear design for more than 20 years, and has conducted many years of exchanges and further studies abroad. He personally owns more than 60 patent designs, including more than 10 invention patents. He is a senior designer with the leading number of "patent technologies" in the Shenzhen eyewear industry. He himself was also awarded the title of Longgang Top Ten Eyewear Craftsmen in 2023.

Focusing on the pain points of children's glasses, Barlow Glasses was born

It is worth mentioning that the company's own brand "Barlow" RUSSELL CROWE uses the core technology of children's prevention and control smart glasses to continuously conduct in-depth research on various mechanism factors of children's myopia in order to develop products that can prevent and control children's myopia, meet customer needs, and solve the pain points in the current children's glasses market.

In 2018, Chen Jinhui turned his attention to children's glasses, and made breakthroughs in the key areas of comfort (adjustable nose bridge, adjustable temple length, childlike hobbies, etc.), which primary school students are most concerned about. After research and development, he registered patented technology. His children's glasses brand Russell Crowe has broken through industry standards in terms of functional structure, and has continuously adjusted according to market feedback, improving this type of glasses from point to surface, striving to design glasses to be more comfortable and more effective in preventing and controlling myopia in children.

"There have always been several major problems with children's glasses. One is that there are not many choices; the second is that the bridge of the nose and the temples are difficult to adjust; the third is that the shape is relatively simple, not beautiful, and not childlike." Chen Jinhui expressed the common voice of most parents. For this reason, Chen Jinhui began to focus on children's glasses and strive to solve these major problems.

"The foot covers of the Barlo children's eyewear brand are ingeniously designed and divided into two series: professional version and sports version. Focus on eyewear design and promote the development of original eyewear designer teams

In June 2018, 18 core designers from independent eyewear companies such as Yisheng, Danniai, and Yijiang organized and established the country's first "China Original International Eyewear Designer Team - Design Team". The team focuses on original eyewear design, introduces new materials and technologies, and advocates creativity and functionality. The team operates commercially, and promotes Chinese eyewear brands to "go global in groups" through collective exhibitions, sharing of R&D resources, concentrated cultivation of the new generation, and exchange of original design concepts.


Today, the Shenzhen eyewear designer team, Design Fan, is increasingly appearing as a collective in the industry. Its influence is growing, and its achievements are becoming more and more well-known. In 2023, the Design Fan team won the second prize in the Shenzhen Division of the Industrial Design Group of the "2022 Guangdong Province 11th 'Governor's Cup' Industrial Design Competition" and the Excellence Award in the National Division. This is the first award-winning eyewear industry team of the Design Fan team since the inception of the competition, and it is also the only award-winning team in the national eyewear industry in this competition. In the same year, Chen Jinhui was also selected as one of the "Top Ten Eyewear Craftsmen in Longgang".

At present, Shenzhen has elevated the development of the eyewear industry to the level of urban development strategy. In the "20+8" strategic emerging industry cluster that Shenzhen is striving to build, the focus is on the modern fashion industry, which focuses on the study and introduction of supporting policies and measures, the construction of industrial ecology, the promotion of brand building, and the digital transformation of the industry, focusing on modern fashion industries such as eyewear, clothing, furniture, and gold jewelry.

As an important gathering place for the eyewear industry in Shenzhen, Longgang District has seized the opportunity of the development of the "20+8" industrial cluster and actively made plans to promote the development of the eyewear industry. Longgang District issued the "Several Measures of Longgang District on Promoting the High-quality Development of the Eyewear Industry", providing a series of real money policy support for the development and growth of the industry, including promoting the scale of eyewear enterprises, encouraging eyewear enterprises to assess the "specialization, refinement and innovation" qualifications, and encouraging eyewear manufacturing enterprises to increase transformation investment and enhance innovation capabilities.

In the core area of ​​Apollo Future Industrial City in Longgang District, the Yuanshan Glasses Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park is under construction in full swing. This is the first industrial building project in the country for the eyewear industry. From the acquisition of land to the present, the investment promotion of the Yuanshan Glasses Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park has exceeded 60%, attracting leading eyewear industry companies such as Huiming Glasses, Taier Glasses, and Baiqi Glasses to settle in. According to the plan, the project will be fully capped in the third quarter of this year and put into use in the second quarter of 2025.
